Ascension Parish Truck Accident Results in Death

Late Wednesday afternoon, a cement truck over turned on Merritt Evans Road in Ascension Parish, sheriff’s deputies reported. The single vehicle accident took the life of the driver and resulted in Merritt Evans Road closing for several hours for a complete investigation to occur, deputies said. According to police Albert Rucker, 61, was the driver of the cement truck. Investigations conclude that the truck veer ed to the right side of the road and when Speed was not a factor in the accident.
