Big Buddy Program & 14th Annual Day of the Mentor
My staff and I had an amazing time this past Friday. We participated in the Big Buddy Program and mentored 8 teens for the day. We had the best time partnering up with these teens and sharing information about our jobs and life experiences.
This is our second year participating. My staff and I teamed up with businesses, LSU football players and other local figures to spend the day with less fortunate teens.
We were paired off and met one on one with our teen about our law firm and our different roles within the firm. Several of the teens commented that they thought there were only attorneys for drugs. They said they didn’t realize that there were so many options for attorneys to go into different practice areas. One teen commented she wants to be a “fashion attorney” and another said he wanted to be an “entertainment attorney”.
It is very humbling and rewarding when you give to less fortunate teens and your community. I’m hoping that through these encounters and connections, we can help change their path into a positive direction. After all, our children ARE our future.
