$400,000 Settlement by Gordon McKernan & Gordon McKernan Injury Lawyers for 18-Wheeler Rear-End Crash

August 17, 2011. Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A 40-year old, the plaintiff, disabled mother of two was driving on Highway 19 when she came to a dead stop to make a left turn. The defendant driver was not paying attention and drove his 18-wheeler into the back of the plaintiff’s car. The plaintiff began to experience neck pan and occasional pain in her arm as a result of the accident. She later received an MRI that revealed advanced degenerative disc disease. The plaintiff’s doctor did not feel the epidurol steroid injections would be of any benefit given the extent of her degenerative condition. Do to this the plaintiff underwent a cervical fusion. The surgery was successful and the plaintiff only attended one doctor visit thereafter. Her medical expenses totaled $89,000 and the case was resolved for $400,000.
