Free Backpack Giveaway Details

McKernan will give backpacks filled with school supplies to over 1,000 students across Louisiana.

Our Gordon Gives Backpack Giveaway will start on Wednesday, August 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The giveaway event will continue until we run out of backpacks.

The backpacks filled with supplies (pencils, folders, notebooks, scissors, crayons, glue and other classroom essentials) will be issued on a first come, first served basis. We will issue one backpack per student. Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to receive a backpack. Due to the high volume of families in need, we will offer a maximum of three backpacks per family.

Backpacks will be available at the following locations:

  • Hammond – 910 W Thomas Street, Hammond, LA
