Car Runs Under 18 Wheeler Truck and Catches Fire

Denham Springs – A woman was rescued Wednesday morning after the car she was driving ran under an 18 wheeler truck on Magnolia Bridge Road and caught fire. According to reports, the driver of the car is believed to have lost consciousness due to a medical condition, causing the 7 a.m. crash on La. 64 near La. 1019. A state trooper and an off-duty St. George firefighter happened to be nearby when the accident occurred and pulled the woman from her burning car in time to prevent serious injury. The woman was taken to Ochsner Medical Center with minor injuries and was later released.
