Settlements and Disbursements Clerk

Description

We are a fast-paced and successful plaintiff’s personal injury firm that offers great benefits, with opportunities to advance and learn. Our Baton Rouge office is seeking a Settlements and Disbursements Clerk to add to our team. The Settlements and Disbursements Clerk will primarily be responsible for assisting settlements Drafters and Manager.

Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Rename all scans in Accounting scan folder daily
  • Scan all deposits/settlement memos daily and add to case viewer folders
  • Printed and saved all satellite offices signed settlement docs and deposit confirmation
  • Serves as backup for Settlements and Disbursements Assistant
  • Process Worker’s Compensation distribution list
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma

Preferred education or experience:

  • Law firm experience
  • Knowledge of court systems and legal documents

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in an environment with frequent interruptions
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Able to work on confidential items and maintain a level of professionalism with various types of people
