April 11, 2011, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. An 18-wheeler crash has been settled by Gordon McKernan and the McKernan Law Firm for $252,000. The plaintiff, a 26 year-old man was driving on I-10 in Baton Rouge when he was rear-ended by and 18-wheeler. The man sustained a herniated disc in his cervical spine as a result of the accident. Through out his recovery, the plaintiff received several ESI’s and physical therapy which provided some moderate relief. The plaintiff’s medical expenses totaled $25,000 and he did not receive any past or future lost wages. The plaintiff was offered $80,000, the day before the trial was set to begin, to settle the case. That offer was declined and the trial proceeded as usual, but as the jury was entering the courtroom a settlement was made for $252,000
