Personal Injury Attorney Gordon McKernan Cares About His Community

Untitled-2   37-Christine-Woods     76-Raven-Starn Gordon McKernan is a personal injury attorney who knows that he and his law firm have received many blessings. He created the Gordon Gives program as a way to give back to the community where he lives and works. Other lawyers at the firm enjoy giving and community involvement just as much as Gordon does. It is especially meaningful for them when they can step in and help people at a time of crisis. One such example of this is the time in 2013 when they paid the transportation costs of a local baseball team to get to their world series after the team's money for the trip was stolen.

Projects Gordon McKernan Gave to in 2013

Every year, Gordon and his legal associates take on dozens of projects to help the community. Some of the recipients of the Gordon Gives program in 2013 include the following:
  • Salvation Army Golf Tournament
  • Fairy Godmother Prom Extravaganza
  • St. Jude Children's Hospital
  • Faces of Hope Gala & Silent Auction
  • Stay Alive - Don't Text & Drive Program
  • Louisiana Association for Justice 2013 Annual Convention
  • $1,000 Scholarship to the Southern University Law Center
  • Safety International Ministries
  • Baton Rouge Food Bank
  • Baton Rouge Crime Stoppers
These 10 organizations are only a small sample of the people and groups that received a financial donation from personal injury attorney Gordon McKernan.

2014 Plans for the Gordon Gives Program

In addition to making direct donations, Gordon's law firm enjoys hosting contests and giveaways. He plans to give away 94+ free bicycles on December 19, 2014 to over 94 local families. The timing of the event is to coincide with the Christmas holiday. Another cause that Gordon McKernan cares about is car safety for child passengers. He understands that new car seats are expensive and that families sometimes have no choice but to accept used car seats for their children. What they probably don't realize is that car seats have an expiration date and they may not be safe to use past that point. Parents are not always aware of proper car safety installation, especially new parents. Giving the parents resources on where to have a child safety seat installation done / checked is very important. Gordon plans to give away at least 94 new car seats on May 9, 2014. He wants to ensure that area children are safe every day, but especially for the heavily traveled Memorial Day holiday. When used correctly, car seats significantly lower child injuries and fatalities during a crash. Gordon cares about the families in Baton Rouge and wants to help them keep their children safe.
