"Ride for a Cure" Provides Over 2,000 FREE Bus Rides
On Monday, October 15, Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys provided over 2,000 FREE bus rides during Ride for a Cure in Baton Rouge and Shreveport. Bus fares paid by Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys will be matched in donations to Susan G. Komen and American Cancer Society for awareness, treatment, and research for breast cancer and other types of cancer.
In Baton Rouge, CATS buses transported 475 passengers along Florida Street and 400 passengers along Plank Road. In Shreveport, SporTran buses transported 1,272 riders along its Downtown Circular Route.
Free bus rides allowed the firm to give back to residents in the Baton Rouge and Shreveport communities. A few Baton Rouge passengers shared with the Get Gordon team members that they would not have made it home if it wasn’t for the free bus rides on the hot pink buses that day.
Goals for Ride for a Cure were to foster awareness of breast cancer and other types of cancer, bring year-round visibility to this cause by wrapping SporTran and CATS buses in hot pink, and encourage others to donate to Susan G. Komen and the American Cancer Society.
Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys will have SporTran and CATS buses wrapped in hot pink year-round to extend awareness of breast cancer and other cancers beyond the month of October. Lamar Advertising Company is also supporting the cause by donating digital billboard space.
Thank you to everyone throughout our local communities who is joining the fight against breast cancer. Ride for a Cure is one of many efforts to raise awareness and help find a cure for cancer.
