W. Brett Cain is from Kansas City, Missouri. He attended the University of Missouri/Columbia as a freshman before transferring to LSU/Shreveport on Scholarship. Brett graduated from LSU/Shreveport in 1994 with a BA in History and as a member of the History Honor Society. Brett then went to LSU in Baton Rouge from 1995 to 1998 where he received his Juris Doctorate. After graduating from law school, Brett was a lead trial attorney for a Shreveport firm. During this time, Brett has been involved in over 500 trials. He has tried cases for the plaintiffs as well as insurance companies. Brett was the lead chair in 300 civil trials.
Brett worked for 4 years as a litigation expert for Safeway Insurance Company of Louisiana where he tried and won more cases than any other associate.
Brett enjoys working out and is an avid tennis player and Member of Pierremont Oaks Tennis Club. He has been on three state champion teams since beginning in May 2017. Brett also enjoys cheering for his home state Missouri Tigers and Kansas City Chiefs.
