Tragic Incident as School Bus Fatally Strikes 16-Year-Old Girl in New Orleans City Park

A devastating accident occurred this past Saturday afternoon around 3:04 p.m. when a school bus fatally collided with a 16-year girl in City Park. 

According to the New Orleans Police Department, the fatal accident transpired in the 100 block of Zachary Taylor Drive, a road that runs parallel to Interstate 610, on the lake side of the highway. 

Eyewitnesses reported that the school bus was traveling downriver toward Wisner Boulevard when it tragically struck the teenage girl, who was walking as a pedestrian at the time of the incident. Emergency services were called to the scene immediately following the collision, rushing the victim to a nearby hospital in a desperate bid to save her life.

Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, the young girl succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital. The news has left the community grieving and mourning the loss of a promising life cut short.
