James Mason

James Mason was born and raised in Louisiana and has deep roots throughout North Louisiana and the greater Shreveport area. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Southern University A&M College. James went on to receive his Juris Doctor, where he graduated cum laude, from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge.

During law school, James distinguished himself academically and professionally. He earned a CALI Award in Advanced Legal Writing, served on the Board of Student Advisors, and was selected as a Peggy Browning Fund Fellow. He was also the recipient of the Chancellor’s Public Interest Award, reflecting his commitment to service and advocacy.

Following law school, James clerked for the Honorable D. Nicole Sheppard at Orleans Civil District Court, where he gained valuable insight into trial preparation, motion practice, and judicial decision-making. He later transitioned into plaintiff-side personal injury practice, representing injured clients at prominent Louisiana firms. James has managed cases from inception through litigation, handling investigations, medical record review, depositions, discovery, and settlement negotiations while maintaining consistent communication with clients and insurers.

James also brings a unique perspective from his experience as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Shreveport, where he advised city leadership, handled litigation matters, and evaluated risk exposure. This background allows him to anticipate defense strategies and aggressively pursue maximum compensation for his personal injury clients.

James is licensed to practice in Louisiana and is admitted to the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Louisiana. He is known for his meticulous case preparation, strong writing skills, and dedication to keeping clients informed throughout the legal process.

Outside of the office, James enjoys spending time in the gym, playing golf, watching movies and television, building LEGO sets, and reading.
