Now comes the next challenge: actually showing up ready. Tuition, housing, books, supplies. The list of things a student needs before the first day of class is long, and the costs add up faster than most families expect. A reliable laptop sits near the top of that list for just about every program, whether you’re pursuing a nursing degree in Baton Rouge, a welding certification in Shreveport, a business program in Lafayette, or a communications degree in New Orleans.

Gordon’s Grads is an annual giveaway from Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys, created to give Louisiana high school seniors a real leg up as they head into their next chapter. Each year, we award laptops to graduating seniors across the state who are headed to college or trade school in the fall.

This year, we’re giving away 15 laptops to 15 deserving students. It’s the largest pool of winners in the program’s history, and we couldn’t be more excited about it.

Gordon McKernan started this program because he believes the right tools matter. A student without reliable technology is a student fighting uphill from day one. This giveaway won’t cover every expense, but it removes one significant obstacle from the path forward.

Here’s Who Qualifies (It Might Be You)

The Gordon’s Grads giveaway is open to Louisiana high school seniors who meet all of the following:

• Graduating in spring 2026 from a Louisiana high school
• Accepted to an accredited college or trade school for fall 2026
• Ready to submit proof of enrollment as part of your application

One entry per student. That’s it. If you qualify, you should apply.

Tell Us Your Story. That’s Really It.

The entry process is straightforward. Head to gordonsgrads.com and complete the registration form before the deadline.

As part of your entry, you’ll need to submit one of the following:

• A 500-word or longer essay explaining why you deserve to win a laptop and what sets you apart
• A 90-second or longer video making that same case

You’ll also need to upload proof of your college or trade school acceptance. Once your form is complete and your submission is in, you’re entered.

One important note: AI-generated essays will be automatically disqualified. Gordon’s team will review every submission. They want to hear your voice, your story, and your reasons in your own words. That’s the whole point.

The deadline is April 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. CST. Winners will be announced on May 4, 2026.
