Lucky No. 8: Gordon McKernan Joins Forces with Tigers Baseball’s Hayden Travinski in Latest NIL Deal

Hayden Travinski NIL, Lucky No. 8: Gordon McKernan Joins Forces with Tigers Baseball’s Hayden Travinski in Latest NIL Deal

We’re thrilled to announce our latest collaboration with Tigers Baseball catcher and first baseman, Hayden Travinski.

Trusting the Process

The Shreveport native joined the Tigers’ 2019 recruiting class but injuries marred his career during his first three seasons. Despite facing hardships throughout the years, Hayden has demonstrated he is a tremendous competitor who doesn’t shy away from challenges.

Hayden has earned recognition as one of college baseball’s best hitters. He secured the starting catcher position at the end of April and played a significant role in the Tigers’ 2023 National Championship victory.

Something About No. 8

The fifth-year senior will carry on LSU Baseball’s No. 8 jersey tradition this season. Outfielder Mikie Mahtook (2009-11) initiated the tradition, which is bestowed each season upon the upperclassman who embodies the spirit of LSU Baseball through leadership and dedication to the program. Hayden joins the ranks of players like Alex Bregman and Gavin Dugas, who have donned the No. 8 jersey.

Hayden’s No. 8 jersey aligns with the G Team’s “8888 Reasons to Rally” campaign. The campaign launched last year after Gordon purchased 8,888 rally shots at Rocco’s in Omaha to show support for the Tigers and university food banks. Similar to Hayden’s career journey and leadership role this season, the rally hats symbolize unity, passion, and determination.

One Last Ride

As he embarks on his farewell tour with the Tigers, Hayden is ready to make another big jump in performance. He joins the G Team alongside Alex Milazzo. They’re a dynamic duo and co-host LSU Baseball’s “In the Dirt” podcast, where they interview teammates about various topics.

We’re thrilled to work with Hayden in this exciting NIL partnership and look forward to supporting him in his final season in Baton Rouge.
