G’s Five Good Things — Week of January 30, 2026
“G’s Five Good Things” offers a curated look at the moments, messages, and milestones that stood out to us each week. Our goal is to provide valuable insights through meaningful updates and positive momentum that inform and engage our community.
Let’s get into G’s Five Good Things! And remember, if you ever need help after a wreck or injury, you can contact my team anytime day or night.
The Good Word:
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”— 2 Timothy 1:7
This verse reminds us that fear is not meant to guide our decisions or shape how we step into what’s next. God equips us with power to move forward confidently, love to lead with humility and care, and self-control to stay grounded when things feel uncertain. Rather than hesitating or waiting for perfect clarity, we’re encouraged to trust the strength He has already placed within us. As the week unfolds, this verse calls us to walk forward with intention, faith, and courage, knowing we are supported and equipped every step of the way.
Good in Action:
A Louisiana worker recently secured critical financial relief after Annabelle Manning helped achieve a firm-wide, record-setting $2.53 million workers’ compensation settlement.
We are grateful to have played a role in achieving an outcome that protects workers’ rights and provides long-term security following a serious workplace injury. This case reflects our team’s commitment to thorough preparation, compassionate representation, and the relentless pursuit of meaningful results for injured workers and their families.
Gordon Says:
Throwing it back to 2016 takes us right back to a time when we were already finding our stride and making noise across Louisiana. Looking at these photos reminds us that while styles, trends, and pop culture continue to circle back around, our approach has always stayed the same, show up consistently, stand out boldly, and take care of people.
Nostalgia may be having its moment, but what matters most is that the values behind those moments haven’t changed. From then to now, it’s always been about building something memorable, staying true to who we are, and never slowing down.
Get Legal with @GetGordon:
With over 30 years of experience, we’ve learned that an insurance company’s bottom line often drives its decisions. While there are times when insurers act fairly and treat people well, more often they aggressively protect their financial interests. This can lead to delayed payments, denied claims, and prolonged disputes as they hold onto funds for as long as possible. Understanding these tactics is critical to ensuring injured workers and families receive the compensation they deserve.
Glimpse Behind the G:
From exclusive LSU gear to GMIA merch, Jeff Watson’s office reflects both school pride and years of experience. A graduate of LSU Law School, Jeff has spent the last 14 years advocating for clients as a personal injury attorney. Before that, he worked for eight years as an insurance defense attorney, where he learned the “tricks of the trade” representing insurance companies like State Farm, Progressive, and Farm Bureau. That perspective proved invaluable, giving him a deeper understanding of how insurance companies operate and strengthening his approach to client advocacy today.
Jeff Watson is a valued member of the GMIA family, known for his experience, insight, and commitment to advocating for those who need it most. When he’s not practicing law, he enjoys golfing, fishing, collecting sports memorabilia (as seen throughout his office), and spending time with family.
