The Good Word:
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.”
– Hebrews 10:23
This verse reminds us that our walk with God is built on something steady and unchanging, His character. It calls us to stay rooted, to remain committed, and to keep showing up with a faithful heart. The One we follow is completely trustworthy. And honestly, that’s something we all need. When life feels uncertain or we’re not sure what comes next, this verse pulls us back to center. It reminds us that our hope isn’t flimsy or wishful thinking, it’s grounded in a God who has never failed us. So we hold on, even on the harder days, trusting that He’s already at work and that His promises will stand.
Good in Action:
A Baton Rouge family recently found justice through the work of Attorney Candy Be, who secured a $4,500,000 wrongful death settlement on their behalf. We’re grateful to have helped bring this family the justice, accountability, and security they deserve. Our prayers and support remain with them as they continue to heal. Their strength throughout this process has been incredibly moving, and we’re humbled to have walked alongside them in seeking the truth and fighting for what’s right.
Gordon Says:
Something I’ve learned over the years is the value of starting before you feel “ready.” If you wait for the perfect moment, you’ll be waiting forever. Most good things in life begin with a small step, even if your confidence feels shaky or unsure.
It’s not about having every detail in place. It’s about taking that first step anyway. You’ll figure things out as you go, and starting often brings the clarity and confidence you’re waiting for. And the funny thing is, once you get moving, things start to make more sense. One step leads to another, and before you know it, you look back and realize you’ve grown more than you thought you would, all because you decided to just start.
Get Legal with @GetGordon:
Imagine your manager tells you to use equipment you know isn’t safe, and sure enough, you end up hurt and sitting in the hospital wondering what comes next. It’s a situation no one expects to be in, but it happens more often than you think.
The good news is that in Louisiana, you don’t have to prove fault to receive help when you’re injured on the job. Workers’ compensation gives you the right to have your medical bills covered and to receive a portion of your wages while you recover. It’s not the same as being able to sue for full damages, but it does provide a safety net so you’re not left facing everything alone.
Glimpse Behind the G:
Had some much-needed family time in St. Francisville this weekend. The food and wine festival was a blast, and seeing my son-in-law’s wine company, The Set. HIs company getting so much love made me smile bigger than I expected. Nothing beats a day surrounded by good people and family pride. Moments like that remind you to slow down, appreciate where you are, and celebrate the people who make life feel full. It was one of those weekends that fills your tank in all the right ways.
