Gordon McKernan Launches New Series Called Grubbin’ with G

In his newest series, “Grubbin’ with G,” Gordon McKernan unites his love for food and conversation while creating a unique and entertaining experience for his audience.

The premise of the series is simple: McKernan invites a guest to dine with him at a local restaurant for a meal and conversation. The informal setting is intended to make his audience feel like they’re sitting at the table with him and his guest.

McKernan shared his first episode of “Grubbin’ with G” in December 2022. He and his debut guest, Tigers Football DL, Maason Smith, discussed Smith’s long but successful journey to recovery while dining at local pizza joint, Lit Pizza.

McKernan opened up the episode by asking Smith, “What would be something that an LSU fan may not know about you?” Smith responded, “I’m actually a really outgoing and nice person. People see my demeanor on the field but it’s different than how I truly am.”

Following a successful first “Grubbin’ with G” episode with Smith, McKernan has since shared episodes with Tigers Women’s Basketball forward, Angel Reese, and Coach Kim Mulkey.

What sets “Grubbin’ with G” apart from other food series is its emphasis on community. McKernan created the series with the hope of giving himself and the local communities an opportunity to learn more about local figures in a relaxed and intimate setting.

Some of McKernan’s fondest memories have taken place at the dinner table, where he’s been able to connect with others over a shared meal. With “Grubbin’ with G,” he’s able to bring that same sense of connection to a wider audience.

McKernan looks forward to continuing to invite viewers to join him on his “Grubbin’ with G” adventures while fostering a sense of community along the way.
