Sean Burrell, the reigning NCAA champion of the 400-meter hurdles, got it done!

Tigers Track star and #GetGordon athlete, Sean “Squirrel” Burrell, earned his second 400-meter hurdles win at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Last week, college athletes across the nation joined to compete for the esteemed title of National Champion. The 2022 National Championship took place from Wednesday, June 8 to Saturday, June 11 in Eugene, Oregon.

Reports state that Burrell was not a favorite for the win due to national rankings. While he ran the first half of the race a few runners behind first place, he quickly sped ahead of all of the runners to claim his second NCAA win.

Burrell is the first male to win back-to-back titles in the event since 2017. His time of 48.70 places him into the top 10 in the world rankings for the 2022 season.

The former Zachary High School Bronco signed a Name, Image & Likeness (NIL) deal with Gordon McKernan earlier this year. Since signing the deal, Burrell has proven himself an ideal partner given his determination to excel both on and off the track.

Our firm remains blessed to have formed a partnership with such a standout athlete. We look forward to watching Burrell continue to succeed in all of his endeavors.
