Truck Carrying Heavy Equipment Flips Along I-10 West

heavy equipment fallen off truck

Around 6 p.m. on April 20th, 2023, a tractor-trailer hauling a bulldozer and other construction equipment flipped on its side off I-10. The crash happened near the LA 415 exit, backing up traffic to the Mississippi River bridge. As of this writing, no injuries have been reported, but the crash caused a major slowdown in traffic.

Unfortunately, this kind of accident is all too common on Louisiana highways. While we can’t be sure exactly what caused this particular accident, many are caused by drowsy driving, distracted driving, driving under the influence, and other causes. If you’ve been hit by a driver who wasn’t fully paying attention, you might be injured, facing thousands in medical bills, and unsure where to turn.

It’s up to all of us to keep the road safe for everyone. When you’re driving, give the road your full attention, and don’t text and drive. Watch out for eighteen-wheelers and other big vehicles, because they cannot stop or react as quickly as you can. And remember not to succumb to road rage!
