Roundup, also known as glyphosate, is the world’s most widely-used herbicide. Multiple studies about this toxic product have found that Roundup can increase the risk of cancer in people who use it or are exposed to it. One study from the University of Washington found that it can increase the risk of contracting non-Hodgkin lymphoma by 41%. However, even though the World Health Organization has stated that glyphosate is “probably carcinogenic to humans,” the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) maintains that there’s “no evidence that glyphosate causes cancer in humans.”

Even though the scientific consensus is far from settled, thousands of cancer patients have been awarded millions of dollars in mass tort lawsuits, class action claims, and personal injury cases. However, the manufacturer of Roundup, Monsanto (bought by Bayer in 2018), has continued to claim that Roundup does not cause cancer, even while paying out settlements.
